Braveheart suffered injuries to both front legs. His left leg had been broken, and though it is healing, it caused him terrible pain. His right leg curls inward, making every step and attempt to play painful. We are determined to do everything we can to avoid amputation, and there is hope with urgent, specialized surgeries—expected to cost between $14,332 – $16,889. The Park Fire grew to more than 383,000 acres—now one of the largest wildfires on record in the state. Chico Animal Shelter just reached out with an urgent plea for help. They desperately need their existing population to be transferred out, in order to house countless displaced fire victims. We rushed to Chico immediately to provide relief. Our shelter is already full, but our volunteers, fosters, and staff will rise to the occasion to welcome and care for the new transfers.
